What It's Like in Fair Haven NJ

Walk by the Fair Haven schools during the weekday and you'll see the school parking lot jammed with children's bicycles. Fair Haven is a very small town and most of the children in town ride their bikes to school on fair weather days. Fair Haven is located in northern Monmouth County and borders the southern shore of the scenic Navesink River. On weekends, you'll find the Fair Haven public dock is a favorite place to stop by. There you will find sail boat watchers sitting in the shade of the gazebo, crab pot lines reaching over the rail, down into the river trying to catch a few of those elusive crustaceans. You might also find a few anglers casting their poles over the lapping waves. There is a public boat launch to set your own watercraft afloat or a number of marinas to choose from.

As each summer draws to a close, Fair Haven holds its annual week-long Fireman's Fair. This long-time tradition is eagerly anticipated and attracts people from far and wide to come and enjoy the amusement rides, games, food and music.
